About 4ME

The Association of Friends and Supporters of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University e. V. (4ME) promotes young talents in the field of mechanical engineering, connects various stakeholders and introduces the interested public to the topics of mechanical engineering in Aachen. We focus on organizing events with the objective of transferring engineering-related topics to the various target groups in an adequate way.

What does 4ME actually mean?

The acronym of our association of sponsors consists of two parts with ambiguous meanings: "4" stands for "Faculty of Mechanical Engineering", which is also called "Faculty 4" at RWTH Aachen University. The following two letters "ME" abbreviate "Mechanical Engineering". When spoken, 4ME can also be interpreted as "for me" which means that the activities of the association of sponsors are meant "for me". "Me" can be anyone – "me" as a mechanical engineer, "me" as a student, "me" as an entrepreneur, "me" as an interested person etc.

It was important for us that our logo symbolizes (or: shows a reference to) the widest possible range of mechanical engineering and is easily recognized. Our logo shows a worm gear which is a typical mechanical component.
